|
Community Volunteer Positions: The following is a list of non-clinical volunteer positions:
Event Set-up Help with the organization and set up of the
following areas: Volunteer check-in Event signage Food area
Patient waiting areas
Volunteer Check-in: Greet volunteers and distribute job
assignments utilizing laptops with excel worksheets prepared for you by the RI MOM lead in this area. Distribute MOM t-shirts and name tags to all
volunteers and direct volunteers to their assignments.
Patient Check-in: Perform patient interview and enter patient
information directly into computer software. Volunteers should be familiar with data entry. Prior orientation may be required for volunteers assigned to Patient Registration.
Interpreters: Serve as translators to assist communication between patients and clinic
personnel. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Languages needed: Spanish, Portuguese, French, Cambodian, American Sign Language, and others.
Patient Escort/Support:
As a Patient Escort/Support you will be assigned to a specific area of the clinic where you will be assisting patients in one of the following ways:

Welcoming patients into the clinic and assisting them through the line to the patient registration station.
- Directing registered patients on to their next destination in the clinic.
- Escorting patients in your designated area of the clinic to their next destination.
- Facilitating patient flow in the waiting areas under the guidance of a RI MOM lead and escorting patients to their specific treatment area.
- Escorting patients who have completed their procedures to the clinic check-out area.
- You may also be asked perform various errands and tasks as needed in your assigned area.
Please note: Patient escorts/support must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Clinic Support | Operatory Chair Turn Over Engineers (TOE)
Working with a trained dental assistant you will be disinfecting operatories between patients and preparing for new patients coming in for treatment.
All necessary PPE is provided.
Duties include:
- Removing disposable dental materials
- Removing and replacing plastic covering on operatory chairs, tables and overhead lamps
- Wiping down and disinfecting all work surfaces
- Restocking patient supplies in operatory
A training video will be sent to volunteers prior to RIMOM and additional training will be provided upon arrival.
Clinic Support | Sterilization Department
Working with the RIMOM sterilization team to sterilize and re-stock dental instruments for patient treatment. All necessary PPE is provided.
